PYTHEAS started with a simple idea: to bring the honey I grew up with to Denmark.

I was born in Athens and today I live in Helsingør. In Greece, honey isn't just something sweet for your tea. Every region has its own honey, and the taste tells you where it comes from. That is what I wanted to share.

That's why we sell single origin honey: pine honey from the island of Thasos, fir honey from the remote Agrafa mountains and thorn honey from Thrace. The honey is raw and unpasteurised, and every batch is tested by independent laboratories before it leaves Greece.

The name PYTHEAS comes from the Greek explorer who, more than 2,000 years ago, sailed from the Mediterranean towards Northern Europe. We make the same journey, just with honey.
